2022 St. Patrick Parade in Wappinger Falls
The DC St Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for March 5, 2022 in the Village of Wappingers Falls.
The Parade lineup at 12:00 noon with the step off being 1:00PM.
Our volunteers MUST be on site between 11:00 and 11:30 AM to avoid the road closures.
Currently I have the following participating:
Rich, W2REV
Tom, N2FZC
Frank, W2GIO
John, AC2TM
Adam, AE2AN
We could still use a few more operators for this event. All that is required is a 2 meter HT programed with 146.970 and 147.045. I expect the majority of our operation to take place on the 146.970 repeater.
This is a lowkey event for the most part all that is asked is you keep your eyes open for problems along the route. No reason you can’t make this a family event.

The feedline project has been COMPLETED!
The Mt. Beacon Club would like to thank everyone who supported this major undertaking.
The day after the work completed stations were able to talk through the WA2GZW repeater from Rhinebeck to NYC!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
As a club, we are faced with a real dilemma. The Feed line on all our 5 repeaters NEED replacement. Feedline costs several dollars PER FOOT. The tower our antennas are on is over 200 feet, so do the math. This project will be costly but it must be done to keep the repeaters running.
Below is a letter from our President, W2REV
(With the cost of the parts and labor) Our current balance in the Treasury would be wiped out, and we still fall short by around $5000.00. Covid has cancelled any sort of in-person fundraising.
The work scope quote we are sitting on is to replace one antenna and all five feed lines complete.
To reduce the amount of work proposed would be penny wise and dollar foolish, given the amount of undoing and redoing that will be necessary at a sooner than later date anyway.
We had several members agree that in the short term, let’s ask the membership to kick in donations, and perhaps effectively reduce or eliminate the need to do a half-backed fundraiser in these trying times. Dollar amounts were stated in the 50 to 200 dollar range. Given the fact we are coming into year end, and depending how you file taxes, any monies you give would be a tax deduction!
A win-win for everybody.
I say let’s try it. If you can find the funds, send a check to our club’s mailing address:
MBARC
PO Box 841
Wappingers Falls, NY 12590
Sending a check and not through PayPal keeps processing fee money in the intended pot.
Please donate and keep our repeaters operating.
